CSSD Operator Job at Gauteng Department of Health

Requirements :

• Grade 10-12 or equivalent qualification. No experience required. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to work of a physical demand of the position.
• Be able to work in a team and under pressure. Be prepared to rotate within the scope of work. Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and night shifts. Previous EPWP experience will be an added advantage.

Duties :

• Responsible for ensuring that instruments and equipment’s received are complete and in good working order. Responsible for cleaning, packing and autoclaving of instruments and non-instrument packs. Packing and autoclave various towels, gowns and small packs. Effective handling of cooled down items to be packed in sterile store area.
• Adherent to safety regulations. Maintain ethical standards and self-development. Perform duties as required by job description and working schedules. Maintenance of general hygiene and tidiness of the unit. Execute legal instructions by supervisor / management. Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Infection Control policies.
• Perform other duties as allocated by the supervisor. Be willing to undergo continuous training and development programs. Attend meetings and training as approved by supervisor. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (Contracting, quarterly reviews and final assessment).
