DALRRD Researcher Plant Breeding (Three (3) Year Fixed Term Contract) (Based at Loskop Research Station, Groblersdal) (Loskop) needed at Agricultural Research Council

• Supports the management of research, development and innovation.
• Plan and undertake research on Plant Breeding, with a focus on legume crops.
• Acquire, utilise, and maintain germplasms, and develop elite breeding lines.
• Manage research projects and allocated resources.
• Actively sources new national research opportunities and funding.

Requirements

• PhD in Plant Breeding, or related disciplines.
• At least three years’ research experience related to plant breeding, post master’s level.
• Experience in classical plant breeding techniques.
• Experience in molecular plant breeding techniques will be an added advantage.
• Authored or co-authored a minimum of two peer reviewed publications relevant to the position.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills, with an ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
• A valid driver’s license.
