About the Role

This elite clinical role manages high-RPM patient data and delivers specialized orthodontic care within the public health training sector. Utilizing specialized healthcare data platforms and ServiceNow for incident tracking, the specialist ensures 100% compliance with HPCSA and national clinical standards. Their leadership mitigates operational risk in oral health and leverages data-driven insights to optimize clinical outcomes and specialist training protocols.

  • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dental Specialist in Orthodontics.
  • Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as Dental Specialist in Orthodontics.
  • Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience as Dental Specialist after registration with the HPCSA (or recognized foreign Health Professional Council in respect of a qualified foreign employee) as a Dental Specialist in Orthodontics.
  • Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience as Dental Specialist after registration with the HPCSA (or a recognized foreign Health Professional Council in respect of a foreign qualified employee) as a Dental Specialist in Orthodontics.
  • Registration with the HPCSA as Dental Specialist in Orthodontics.
  • Screening of patients on arrival. Record patients details. Identify problems to provide diagnosis. Orthodontic treatment of patients at Oral Health Centre, Tygerberg/Mitchells Plain. Treatment of cleft lip/palate and syndrome patients at Red Cross Hospital (Dental Clinic). Restore function and aesthetics. Record keeping. Responsible for compiling stats.
  • Valid Driver’s licence.
  • Grade 1: R 646 per hour, Grade 2: R 737 per hour, Grade 3: R 853 per hour Annual salary plus 37% in lieu of service benefits.

An MChD in Orthodontics and current registration with the HPCSA as a Dental Specialist are mandatory.
