Deputy Head: Learner Discipline (High School) Job at Curro Holdings Ltd

Key performance areas

• Support the Executive Head/Head of High School with the development and implementation of the annual school business and strategic plan.
• Oversee academic achievement, learner targets, and operational priorities aligned to Curro strategy.
• Manage school activities including sport, culture, community engagement, and calendar events.
• Oversee financial operations, budgeting, and supplier contracts.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security requirements.
• Oversee curriculum planning, timetables, assessments, and reporting in line with CAPS/IEB and Curro standards.
• Support recruitment, mentoring, and retention of staff; manage staff performance and conduct.
• Implement learner discipline, pastoral care, and intervention processes.
• Represent the school on parent, stakeholder, or governance forums when delegated.
• Undertake teaching, tutoring, or learner engagement duties where required.

Qualifications, experience and skills

• Minimum: Degree in Education
• Advantageous: Honours Degree in Educational Leadership and Management
• Legal Requirement: SACE registration
• Experience: 3–5 years managerial experience (School Management Team experience advantageous)
• Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills
• Financial and operational management capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school systems
• Ability to work long hours and manage multiple priorities
