Join our dynamic IT team based in Cape Town, as a Desktop Engineer supporting the Coronation team with all matters related to our business’ IT infrastructure. This is a great opportunity for someone who is MCSE and A+ certified with preferably five years relevant experience gained within a Financial Services company or similar. If you are service orientated, enjoy a challenge, love problem solving and are willing to learn, then this role is for you.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • 2nd and 3rd Line IT Support
  • The building, configuration, and implementation of end user devices
  • Creation and deletion of users on the CFM domain
  • Timely resolution of SLA based calls logged on behalf of the users via the Helpdesk
  • First line support of internal development applications
  • Advanced troubleshooting of problem machines/software
  • Maintenance of security software
  • Audio visual equipment support
  • Configuration of new technologies
  • Ad hoc duties as they arise
  • Working hours 08h00 – 17h00 (Flexibility does apply) with possible after-hours work

Ideal Experience

  • 5 years relevant experience
  • Financial industry experience would be an advantage
  • Active Directory and Azure AD
  • Office 365 administration (license management from a product & administration perspective)
  • EndPoint single sign-on management across Microsoft and 3rd party solutions.
  • Familiar with Bit Locker encryption & recovery
  • Vulnerability & Patch Management lifecycle (Generate report, identify vulnerable systems, UAT deploy, evaluate, Prod deploy)
  • Familiar with Manage Engine endpoint central or similar solutions.
  • Powershell would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of Microsoft permissions and security.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, root cause analysis , documenting resolution to problems.
  • Understanding of basic change control & best practice frameworks, ITIL will be advantageous.
  • Remote support for users on and off network with the ability to think outside the box when critical system resources are not available.
  • Crowdstrike Host Management (end points)
  • Setup of new starters to the business and decommissioning upon leaving.
  • Resolve inefficiencies and provide solutions from a IT support and end user technology experience perspective.
  • End user application support
  • Knowledge of patching regimes and upgrading software packages would be an advantage
  • Manage Engine knowledge would be a plus

Ideal Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification
  • MCSE certified
  • A+ certified
