Desktop Technician Job at City of Tshwane

Job purpose

• To provide ICT functional support to computer end users in the City of Tshwane

Appointment requirements

• An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification (degree or national diploma) in Information Technology, Computer Science or any other ICT related study field
• CompTIA A+ Certification
• At least two years’ experience in an ICT desktop support environment
• Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Primary functions

• Set up, configure and install new hardware equipment
• Perform software and hardware maintenance
• Provide efficient technical support to all end users
• Maintain an inventory of hardware devices
• Perform all other technical support and administrative duties
• Investigate and resolve hardware and software faults
• Ensure that daily service-level agreements are met
