About the Role

This clinical role manages high-RPM patient nutrition data and delivers 100% compliant dietetic services within the public health sector. Utilizing specialized healthcare data platforms and ServiceNow for incident tracking, the dietician mitigates operational risk in clinical nutrition. Their expertise leverages data-driven insights to optimize patient recovery outcomes and ensures the technical reliability of community health and wellness services.

  • Thorough knowledge and exposure to all aspects relating to Dietetics. Good interpersonal, communication, counselling and organisational skills. Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Teams. Facilitation, presentation and project coordination skills. Sound knowledge of INP & nutrition policies.
  • Willingness to conduct outreaches to local clinics, community day/ health centres and communities. Valid Code B/EB driver’s license. Willingness to work overtime.
  • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dietician.
  • Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA in Dietetics in respect of RSA qualified employees. One-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in Dietetics in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
  • Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in Dietetics in respect of SA qualified employees. Minimum of 11 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in Dietetics in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
  • Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years relevant experience after registration with HPCSA in Dietetics in respect of SA qualified employees who performed Community Service, as required in South Africa.
  • Minimum of 21 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in Dietetics in respect of foreign qualified employees.
  • Managing burden of disease by improving nutrition in the early life and late life course to all patients. Provide community outreach, conduct projects and activities by rendering a therapeutic service Capacitated workforce. Provide in-service training and mentoring of all categories of personnel and students on nutrition related topics to. General administration including assisting with planning, reporting activities conducted, and monitoring of nutritional programmes.
  • No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a written practical test and oral assessment. Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements, may also apply.
  • Such candidates will only be considered for appointment on condition that proof of application for registration to register with the relevant council and proof of payment of the prescribed registration fees to the relevant council are submitted on or before the day of the interview.
    This concession is only applicable on health professionals who apply for the first time for registration in a specific category with the relevant council (including individuals who must apply for change in registration status.
  • The pool of applicants will be considered for other vacant Dietician posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from date of advert.
  • Registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician.
  • Grade 1: R 397 233 per annum; Grade 2: R 463 941 per annum; Grade 3: R 543 099 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
