  • You are accountable to manage the effective distribution of products as a key team player in the logistics and supply chain management realm, and leverage information systems and software to enable an effective distribution model for the Bakeries.
  • Ultimately, you will balance the business desire to reduce costs and optimize safety to have product available immediately.
  • Achieving this balance means more than moving products from point A to point B as swiftly and cheaply as possible, it means you will ensure detailed planning and execution to minimize risks and challenges while being aware of marketplace dynamics and opportunities for improved competitiveness and greater growth.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Distribution Management 

  • Apply sound judgement, a high level of drive and positive influence so as the distribution teams at the Bakery and at the depots to manage the distribution facilities and resources to meet the required customer service level and sales volumes within the operational budget 
  • Maintain the effective use of distribution resources, procedures and controls to minimize losses, maximize product integrity in all processes at the bakery and depots 
  • Continuous improvement, quality and safety experience in a manufacturing / distribution environment 

​​​​​​​Cost Containment  

  • Make effective use of ERP systems to drive financial controls 

​​​​​​​Debriefing Process 

  • Manage debrief processes at the bakeries and depots to ensure integrity and availability of the information to enable the sales function to maintain highest possible customer service levels 

​​​​​​​Continuous Improvement 

  • Continuous improvement, quality and safety experience in a manufacturing / distribution environment 

​​​​​​​Fleet Management 

  • Fleet management to ensure optimal service levels at the lowest costs 
  • Put key metrics in place to drive business performance 
  • Undertake business continuity planning and risk management practices to manage distribution risks

​​​​​​​People Management 

  • Lead and Management your Teams to deliver winning performance and drive talent development 

​​​​​​​WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:

Qualifications 

  • Bachelors Degree (4 years – 480 credits) in Logistics & Supply chain Management  
  • 5 – 10 years management experience
  • 5 – 10 years Distribution experience
  • Bakeries experience advantageous
