Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage electrical control and instrumentation deliverables from feasibility to commissioning.
  • Design of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.
  • Conduct life-cycle cost analysis and prepare technical documentation and reports.
  • Manage contracts (FIDIC, JBCC, GCC), budgets, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Perform load flow analysis, protection coordination, and high level system integration.
  • Draft tender specifications and evaluate bids.
  • Ensure compliance with OHS Act, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
  • Mentoring of graduates and candidate engineers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Registered as Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist with ECSA
  • BSc (Hons) in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • 7-10 years of experience in electrical engineering roles across municipal, industrial, and private sectors.
  • Strong Electrical LV, Control and instrumentation experience.
  • Experience in multidiscipline brownfield industrial or water infrastructure projects.

Skills And Characteristics
Technical Skills:

  • Electrical Designs, Lighting Designs, MCC Design.
  • C&I Design and Specifications – PLC/DCS/SCADA/HMI development
  • Software: Revit, DigSilent, ETAP

Project & Contract Management:

  • Budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination
  • Contract administration (FIDIC, JBCC, GCC)
  • Tender preparation and evaluation

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and leadership
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Collaborative and adaptable in multidisciplinary environments
