JOB PURPOSE
- To develop and deliver strategic, high-quality content that communicates Peace Parks’ impact and strengthens its relationships with governments, donors, partners, communities and the public. The Editorial Lead ensures that every story is purposeful, crafted to the right format, for the right audience and with the right outcome in mind, showcasing the organisation’s work in a way that is easy to understand, human, and credible.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Craft clear, compelling stories for multiple platforms, including reports, case studies, web stories, interviews, social media, newsletters and press releases.
- Translate technical and field information, including MEL data, into accessible and engaging content.
- Shape narratives that enhance partner and government visibility while ensuring accuracy and authenticity.
- Write speeches, op-eds and executive pieces that align with Peace Parks’ tone, priorities and values.
- Collaborate with field teams to identify and develop stories that reflect real impact on people and landscapes.
- Work with digital, design and video teams to adapt content for the most effective format and audience.
- Edit and refine written material from internal contributors to maintain clarity, tone and consistency.
- Plan and manage the editorial calendar to ensure timely and coordinated content delivery across channels.
- Uphold Peace Parks’ brand and style standards across all written outputs.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in communications, journalism, English or a related field.
- At least five to seven years of professional writing or editorial experience.
- Proven ability to create high-quality content for different audiences and platforms.
- Strong editorial judgment, research ability and storytelling skill.
- Experience translating complex or technical material into clear, engaging language.
- Familiarity with conservation, development or non-profit communication is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
