Electrical Technician needed at Cederberg Municipality

Duties:

• To provide technical support functions in the electrical engineering services directorate with specific focus on protection, metering and SSEG systems and to design and cost department engineering projects Assist with the implementation, inspections and approval of small scale Embedded Generation (SSEG) installations To ensure implementation of construction and maintenance projects in line with cost, quality and time requirements Assist with MV / LV switching operations in accordance with safety procedures and OHS Act requirements Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, code of practise and municipal policies Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with municipal standards and SANS regulations Prioritize and assess emergency and call out situations to determine whether immediate repair or scheduled work is appropriate The full scope of duties is contained in the job description.

Requirements:

• A relevant National Diploma in Electrical Engineering Code B Drivers Licence Good communication in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape Attention to detail Protocol and business ethics Good communication abilities Able to handle conflict Able to work under pressure Time management Good technical (electrical maintenance) skills Supervisory skills Must work on live systems (High voltage) 3 – 5 years relevant experience required.
