Responsibilities:
Electrical System Maintenance
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems, including distribution panels, wiring, motors, and other equipment, to identify any defects or potential hazards.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and diagnose the root causes of failures, utilizing your knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
Equipment repair, calibration and electrical designs
- Oversee the replacement of faulty electrical components, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and transformers, using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Calibrate and test electrical equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source quality electrical components and equipment.
Preventive Maintenance and Equipment Monitoring
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and schedules for electrical systems and equipment, minimizing the risk of unexpected breakdowns and downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance and analyse data to identify trends, proactively addressing potential issues before they escalate.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests as per the preventive maintenance plan.
Project Management
- Assist in the design and implementation of electrical projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing safety within the agricultural facilities.
- Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and project timelines for electrical projects.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineers, project managers, and operations teams, to ensure project requirements are met.
Compliance and Safety
- Stay updated with local electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring that all electrical systems and equipment are compliant and meet safety standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate measures for mitigation.
- Implement and enforce electrical safety protocols and procedures in collaboration with the health and safety team.
Requirements
- B. Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 2 years’ experience at a consulting firm and/ or industrial environment.
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Technologist will be advantageous.
