  • An engineering lead oversees a team of technical leads who work on accelerating technical proficiencies and delivery within their portfolio projects. In this role, prepare to get your hands dirty by working closely with software development and architecture teams to provide the best technical solutions using the full complement of multi-skilled technical leads within your team.  Yes, you will code and build solutions! 
  • Your primary duties and focus are on the equipment, technology, and infrastructure that support the portfolio’s complex technical landscape. The candidate will be reporting to the Head of Portfolio.

What you’ll be doing

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a team of technical leads across a broad technical domain (includes but not limited to software development, business intelligence, QA) setting the standards for leading innovation through hand on actions.
  • Provide technical leadership to architects and design large projects and new products, focusing on long-term technology strategies.
  • Work in close collaboration with Head of Portfolio, Product Delivery Managers and Product Managers in providing the best technical solutions that will achieve target state and equally deliver an enriched customer experience.
  • Create a collaborative and inclusive engineering team culture where members continuously improve their skills, while ensuring they feel connected to our product, customers, and overall company results
  • Communicate expectations, feedback, and context to team members, partners, and stakeholders early and often.
  • Mentor the professional development of each direct report through personal and performance management.
  • Identify and track key metrics to improve team management, accountability, productivity, decision making, and achievement of business
  • Actively participating to software development team’s delivery through assisting in building platforms, prototypes, practical new technology adoption
  • Implementing features, technology, and process that move us towards industry best practices, improving on scalability, efficiency, reliability, and security
  • Assist with incident resolution, review, and management thereof
  • Hosting regular learning incident review “whiteboard” sessions with DigiTech

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table

The necessary skills that we require for this role include:

  • At least 5 years’ hands-on software development experience.
  • At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in a configurable web-based platform
  • At least 2 years’ experience in building on Cloud Platforms
  • Senior developer or Lead in a technology environment for at least 1 year.
  • Demonstrates consistent behavior aligned to the Organizational Culture.
  • Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve

It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:

  • Vision setting experience
  • Strong technical leadership experience
  • Expert knowledge of plug-in / extendable frameworks and modularization
  • Experience working and integrating content management systems (preferably headless CMS)
  • Working with enterprise scale systems
  • Computer Science related degree, diploma, or similar qualification.
  • Working knowledge of

  • Relational; NoSQL; cache datastores
  • Actor patterns
  • Concurrency patterns

  • 3rd Party integrations
