Description

  • Develop & implement prescribed standards & procedures to ensure maintenance planning compliance within area of responsibility.
  • Create a “Visible felt Leadership” SHE culture within area of responsibility
  • Implement and maintain Risk Management program measures to continually improve SHE conditions within area of responsibility
  • Ensure all subordinates are trained and competent in order to fulfill their roles safely.
  • Ensure the maintenance procedures are in place and adhered to and adjust in order to improve Asset performance.
  • Manage and control engineering budgets within parameters
  • Identify business improvement opportunities to ensure a pipeline of CI projects.
  • Co-ordinate all project activities within area of responsibility to ensure adherence to project plans
  • Provide coaching and on-the-job training to reporting staff.
  • Development and maintenance of individual development plans for reporting staff.
  • Manage performance of reporting staff.

Requirements

  • N6 (Diploma or Advanced Certificate) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • NQF 7 (Bachelor degree / Advanced Diploma) qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering will be advantageous
  • Government Certificate of Competence – Mines / Factories (Mechanical &/or Electrical) will be advantageous
  • Formal qualification in Maintenance Management
  • Project Management qualification will be advantageous
  • Eligible for Professional Engineering registration will be advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role is essential working with Maintenance Management Systems in an engineering / planning environment
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Foreman in a Mining Environment
  • Experience in implement Maintenance Strategies
  • Background in the principal of operation of equipment in Gold Mining industry
  • Sound knowledge of Engineering Systems, Safety Systems, Computer Skills and Database Principles and Design
  • Proven track record of implementing planned maintenance systems
  • Experience in managing a maintenance team, albeit in an acting position is advantageous
  • Reliability Engineering Experience would be an advantage
  • Equipment knowledge operation and failure profiles
  • Reliability engineering principles and practices
  • Asset management principles and practices
  • Asset tactics development process (RCM)
  • Range of condition monitoring techniques and their application
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Valid certificate of physical fitness
