English and History Teacher needed at Inspired Education

ROLE SUMMARY:

• We are seeking an experienced College English and History Teacher to join Reddford House Blue Hills. The role requires adopting a holistic approach to student development, promoting academic progress, wellbeing and positive engagement in learning. The successful candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, prepare and deliver interesting and engaging lessons.
• Establish a nurturing classroom environment that promotes active and meaningful learning.
• Demonstrate professionalism in punctuality, behaviour, and expectations for student work and homework.
• Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
• Participate in personal and school-wide professional development.
• Produce high-quality learning resources.
• Respond to parent emails and messages within 24 hours.
• Demonstrate loyalty to all facets of Reddford House.
• Attend school events and special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
• Set and mark examinations and other forms of student assessment.
• Write report comments reflecting student progress.
• Undertake other reasonable tasks as directed by the School Head or line manager.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Proven experience teaching English and History.
• At least 3 years’ experience teaching within the relevant school phase.
• Experience with IEB programmes.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to plan high-quality lessons.
• Ability to assess student progress and provide effective feedback.
• SACE certification and a completed university degree in a relevant subject.
• Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, professional attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
