Enrolled Nurse – Theatre – Isipingo Hospital – KZN needed at Joint Medical Holdings

• As an Enrolled Nurse in our Theatre department, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and assisting the Registered Nurses and Surgeons during surgical procedures. This is a full-time, permanent position, and your primary working hours will be during the day with occasional weekends and on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Registered Nurses and Surgeons during surgical procedures
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the Registered Nurse
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
• Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies
• Ensure the cleanliness and sterility of the operating room
• Provide post-operative care and monitor patients’ recovery
• Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and follow-up appointments
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide the best possible care for patients
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as professional standards and legal requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• Enrolled Nurse and current registration with the South African Nursing Council
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Enrolled Nurse in a Theatre setting
• Must have experience as an anaesthetic and circulating nurse.
• Experience in scrubbing and circulating for various surgical procedures
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anaesthetists, equipment, and sterile techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills
