Purpose of the Job

  • The Enterprise Architect is responsible tlead and drive key strategic projects and programmes, in conjunction with our EPMteam, and this role is not a purely passive governance role but an active participant in the delivery of Cell C strategy and strategic projects.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Alignment and Solution Delivery 

  • Develop, refine, and manage the 18-month t3-year strategic view of all portfolios, systems, processes and architecture views tsupport business goals.
  • Lead the design and implementation of architecture views and roadmaps and provide and guidance through the development of solution blueprints that respond proactively tbusiness and technology trends within budget.
  • Translate business and technical requirements intactionable functional and technical specifications.
  • Drive the delivery of critical projects and support enterprise activities, ensuring solutions meet business needs and adhere tbest practices.

Governance and Framework Development 

  • Enhance and manage architecture governance structures talign decisions with strategic goals and ensure compliance with standards and company policies.
  • Develop, document, and standardize architecture resources including repositories, roadmaps, principles, and architecture standards.
  • Ensure solutions are vetted through appropriate governance forums, conforming tdesign directives and architecture standards.
  • Present designs tthe Design Authority tensure consistency with enterprise architecture goals.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) tmonitor project progress, address risks, and drive progress.
  • Actively participate in architecture forums and provide final approval on project specifications and estimates.

Operational and Leadership Support

  • Provide decision-support functions texecutives and management team assisting with planning and delivery across technology domains.
  • Offer technical leadership in resolving design and technology challenges within projects and within domains.
  • Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, and system managers tensure alignment with Cell C’s strategic objectives.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Assess and manage the risk profile of technology architectures, identifying threats and implementing appropriate mitigation controls.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, managing risks toperations and personnel.
  • Ensure compliance tall appropriate laws and standards applicable.
  • Support operational management teams in identifying and managing risks.

Budgeting and Procurement

  • Support any necessary budget planning and procurement planning within the technology domain, tracking costs, and advising on financial impacts of technology decisions, and supporting the procurement processes.

Consulting

  • Support the implementation of projects in the technology space in support of business objectives.
  • Drawing from the knowledge of implemented systems, provide support tbusiness at a technical level in the analysis of new or enhancing product activities.

Knowledge Management

  • Actively contribute towards the maintenance of the reference architecture repository.
  • Actively utilize agreed standard templates and file formats.
  • Actively share information through agreed channels and repositories.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or similar qualification.
  • Technical Certifications: Contemporary industry certifications such as TOGAF, Cloud Developer, Security Certifications, Developer Certifications, Enterprise Architecture, and Business Architecture certifications.

Advanced Qualifications such as:

  • Enterprise architecture certifications like additional TOGAF levels.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Project Management certifications, emphasizing ability tlead and manage projects.

Specialized Certifications such as:

  • Security certifications, especially relevant in ensuring compliance and managing risks.
  • Telecommunications certification, particularly valuable in a telecom-focused company.
  • Systems Thinking Certification, useful for holistic and integrative thinking.

Leadership Training:

  • Management qualifications that prepare for overseeing teams and strategic decision-making.

Experience Required:

  • 10+ Years in Technology and Business Leadership:
  • At least 5 years specialising in enterprise architecture, system architecture, or business architecture.
  • At least 5 years specializing in systems development.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing complex, highly available systems serving large customer bases and supporting critical services.
  • Strong leadership experience, demonstrating managerial and strategic skills across technology and business domains.
  • A history of successful delivery. Getting it done. Pragmatic and epic success.
