Job Description

• We are seeking a highly motivated Estimator to join our dynamic team in Durban. The successful candidate will support the preparation of cost estimates, tender submissions, and pricing schedules for a variety of civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Tender Coordinator with identifying tenders and acquiring tender documents.
• Attend compulsory tender site briefing meetings when required.
• Scope tender documentation including contract data, specifications, drawings, and prepare tender scope summaries.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and import onto CCS Candy.
• Assist with procurement by splitting BOQs into trade packages, sending out RFQs, and following up on quotations.
• Review drawings, calculate and check quantities listed in BOQs.
• Support tracking and compilation of tenders.
• Develop and draft returnable tender documents including method statements, technical approaches, risk management plans, quality control plans, and tender programmes using MS Projects.
• Estimate rates using CCS Candy.
• Post-tender cost control for contracts, including Cost vs Allowable assessment and reporting using CCS Candy.

Requirements:

• Degree or BTech in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• 5+ years’ experience in the Civil Engineering/Construction industry (preference for candidates with both on-site and estimating office experience).
• CCS Candy experience in estimating and post-tender cost control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Projects and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of construction contract frameworks (FIDIC, GCC, JBCC).
