Job Description

Key outputs:

  •  Monitor the work and overall performance of regional protection services technology systems for all mining operations.
  •  Evaluate and ensure processing performance relating to system and machine utilisation, reliability and capacity
  •  Forecast financial, physical, and IM service specialists concerning protection services Infrastructure linking to CCTV/ alarm systems and Video Management Systems (VMS).
  •  Manage all risks relating to the protection services environment.
  •  Manage costs associated with the protection services transparently and effectively, including investment choices and budgeting to ensure equipment is “healthy.”
  •  Own a monthly, global service delivery review with the protection services vendors, with input from the regions
  •  Act as the subject matter escalation point for regional incidents or complex site incidents related to protection services infrastructure.
  •  Manage the performance of the vendors, and ensure they are meeting or exceeding their contractual commitments for services and projects, including those delivered directly to the BU’s
  •  Understand technological trends and use this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge
  • Oversee and coordinate frameworks, designs, blueprints and restoration plans that isolate problems and implement pre-planned alternative routes or systems to restore service in the protection services environment.
  •  Develop business and technology standards and best practices for the protection services environment in all mining operations and disciplines.
  •  Requirements Analysis involves gathering and analyzing users’ and stakeholders’ requirements to understand their needs and expectations for protection management systems.
  •  System Design: Designing the architecture and components of protection services management systems, including video management systems, surveillance infrastructure and access control.
  •  Integration Planning: Planning and implementing integration between different protection services management systems and other enterprise systems to facilitate seamless data exchange and interoperability.
  •  Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitoring the performance of protection services management systems and optimizing their configuration, resources, and processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

Qualifications:
An undergraduate qualification (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the relevant IM Discipline and Technical

Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant IM Discipline and Technical

Technical knowledge:

  • Translating ideas into practical initiatives to be implemented and a demonstration of successful execution and delivery of initiatives within the Project Management area

Industry Knowledge requirements:

  • IT and OT discipline and governance
  • Change management and stakeholder engagement
  • Proficiency in required languages. LATAM roles will require proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish.
  • HQ, Regional and Frontline IM services, toolsets and standards
  • Team leadership to ensure effective resource utilisation across the portfolio
  • Regional and local conditions

Technical skills:

Ability to apply the following skills at a defined level of proficiency required for the role:

Ability to:

  • Deliver a portfolio of OT services to a defined client base
  • Hold vendors to account on SLA indicators
  • Liaise with solutions design and architecture to make sure that roadmaps are followed and services are introduced with excellence
  • Analyse and identify risk root causes and quantify potential business impact
  • Engage with key stakeholders and understand their process requirements
  • Implement best-fit solutions to meet stakeholder requirements and contribute to OT process enhancements
  • Perform continuous monitoring reviews and measure defined quality and quantity indicators
  • Interpret policy and explain why work needs to be completed in a particular manner
  • Explain how a particular process task needs to be fulfilled
  • Assign and re-assign work to ensure that outputs and the elimination of waste
  • Participate in business initiatives/projects and the different processes involved
