Facilities Maintenance Assistant Job at Bayer

Job Purpose:

• Support Maintenance & Production Lead with daily facility maintenance and repairs
• Support to maintain office and site buildings infrastructure
• Support Senior Plant Supervisors during maintenance activities
• Escalate utility maintenance requirements where first line repair is not within scope of site capabilities
• Support HSE inspections

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing support and giving instruction to the plumbing, handyman, electrician team members and receptionist
• Support preventative and planned maintenance/services of assets and equipment, i.e., generators/transformers/HVAC system/elevators
• Support general maintenance of site building including small and major projects and renovations.
• Member of HSE teams
• Support the development and/or execution of HSE processes and inspections
• Support continuous optimization of processes and operations
• Responsible for the servicing and operation of the site water filter system
• Responsible for generator tests
• Continuous inspection on the condition of facilities and the escalation thereof where needed

HSE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Motivate employees to wear the correct PPE
• Follow Safety operations procedures
• Report all accidents or incidents immediately
• Participate in identifying hazards
• Participate in Tier meetings and monthly Health and Safety Meetings
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment
• Upon request participate  in emergency response teams and any other safety or health group established by the site
• Participate in all required HSE trainings and educations
• Participate in all emergency drills

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Trouble shooting skills and attention to detail.
• Strong safety orientation and knowledge of regulatory compliance
• Ability to perform repairs and maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
• May be required to work overtime, weekends or holidays if necessary
