REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • A three-year tertiary qualification/degree/national diploma (minimum 360 credits) in a finance-related field with 18 months of proven experience in accounting/financial management, including 6 months in tracing or debtors/debt collection.
  • Alternatively, a Senior Certificate/Grade 12/Matric/Vocational Certificate with three years of proven experience in accounting/financial management, including 6 months in tracing or debtors/debt collection.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Fluency in English is required, and the ability to speak any other official languages of the province will be essential.
  • Added advantage: Valid driver’s license.

Knowledge of:

  • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
  • Public Service Act (PSA).

Competencies:

  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Analytical and time management skills.
  • Integrity and ability to prioritize tasks.

DUTIES:

The incumbent will handle a variety of financial administrative tasks, including but not limited to:

Tracing Beneficiaries:

  • Use ITC systems to locate contact details of candidates for unclaimed benefits.
  • Contact potential candidates, confirm personal particulars, and validate their status as beneficiaries.
  • Rectify system errors by updating correct information provided by clients.
  • Forward successfully traced unclaimed benefit cases to the Pretoria Head Office for re-issue.

Case Preparation:

  • Provide administrative support by compiling documentation required for unclaimed benefits cases.
  • Verify system documentation to ensure accurate processing.
  • Send appropriate death benefit forms to clients according to their entitlements.
  • Accurately capture information in the database for beneficiaries eligible for re-issues based on the provided documents.

Verification:

  • Perform data integrity checks according to standard processes.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports on unclaimed benefits for the Assistant Manager and Outbound Call Centre Agent.
