Job purpose:
- Responsible for analysing and controlling the Gamsberg project revenues, costs, inventory, payroll, fixed assets, BEE and supplier engagements.
Key performance areas:
- Track revenue to see progress of payments with the client.
- Analyse movement of volumes and distances of production for planning/budgeting
- Review monthly project costs for accuracy and completeness.
- Assess preferential procurement points for BBBEE
- Reconcile procurement and accounting records, analyze spend by GL/ Supplier.
- Assist the site team with GL code selection for requisitions on Pragma.
- Track and analyze inventory including inventory counts and record keeping.
- Ensure that all suppliers are paid accurately and timeously.
- Assist with queries regarding unpaid invoices.
- Continuous communication with suppliers
- Assist the external auditors.
- Ad hoc analysis and assistance with various enquiries from internal business.
- Communicate and provide information by relevant methods internally and externally to assist and enable company operations and effective service to connect groups.
- Maintain positive and effective interaction with all team members to reach the objectives.
- Assist with fixed asset verifications as and when required
- Updating of the HR Master file
- Load new employees on Sage 300
- Load new employees on ERS
- Load new employee’s fingerprints on the ERS clocking device
- Uploading of employee documents/ leave forms (absences)/ AOD’s etc. on Sage 300
- Updating the list for Midmonth advance including updating on Sage 300 and submission to head office payroll by the 10th
- Check hours captured by Team Assistant/ Payroll administrators against ERS/ attendance registers
- and submit to Head office payroll on a weekly basis.
- Update HR Payroll input sheet (Allowances/ AOD/ Appointments/ Terminations/ Acting allowances etc.) daily (as and when received)
- Check overtime against clock records and submit to Head office for approval & capture the hours on the payroll timesheet.
- Payroll queries
- Assisting with the printing of payslips
- Checking ERS, Sage and HR master head count (Employee Recon)
- Capturing of leave and for wages employees, ensuring that the amount on the payslip is correct (check rate per day x leave days captured is what is on the payslip)
- Relocation Assistance forms – sending for approval and once approved, compiling the bank file and send to Head office finance.
- Petty cash for Gamsberg
- Checking of expense claims and submission to CEO
- Collating the monthly KPI’s as per the clients requirements and submit to Head Office.
Minimum Job requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- B Com Accounting degree or equivalent
- 3 -5 years’ experience in accounting and payroll
- Sage Evolution experience will be an advantage
- Sage People experience will be an advantage
- Clean criminal record
- Valid code EB Driver’s license
Knowledge, Attitude, Skills & Abilities:
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office skills required
- Knowledge of updated tax and statutory laws (SARS)
- Knowledge of project accounting
- Knowledge of payroll systems
- Good administrative skills and attention to detail
