PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager with a strong background in team management, financial oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, capable of managing cash flow and high-volume payments, and committed to maintaining accuracy in accounting records. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to deliver monthly financial reports under tight deadlines. The Finance Manager will also play a key role in preparing for and managing the annual audit process, ensuring compliance in expense payments, and reconciling balance sheet accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring effective communication, performance management, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and promote cross-functional engagement across departments.
  •  Cash Flow and Payments Management:
  • Oversee daily cash flow and manage high-volume payment transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Monitor cash positions, identifying and addressing variances as they arise.
  •  General Ledger Maintenance and Monthly Reporting:
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of accounting records within the general ledger.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports under tight deadlines, analyzing variances and trends.
  •  Audit Preparation and Execution:
  • Lead the preparation for the annual audit, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring the accuracy of supporting documentation.
  • Oversee the execution of the audit process, addressing queries and implementing recommendations as needed.
  •  Expense Compliance and Reconciliation:
  • Ensure all expense payments are compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies and maintaining accuracy in reporting.
  •  Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate policies.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  •  Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing clear and concise financial information.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field CA(SA) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 6 years of experience in finance or accounting, with demonstrated experience in team management (3 years articles and 3 years post articles).
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
