About the Role:

Your key responsibilities would involve:

• Group (including international entities) capital and cash flow management and controls as well as cross-border intra-company accounting.
• Support on budgeting as well as quarterly forecasting and the half year review.
• Ensuring accuracy of monthly accounting records in terms of timing/cut-off, accruals and provisions, Job costing, Balance sheet vs Income statement allocations.
• Prepare and present a meaningful monthly Management report to the executive team that will include Management Accounts reported against the budget, a dashboard with key metrics. These should be part of the decision making tools of management.
• Analyse financial information and provide insights to management to guide business decisions.
• Provide support to the executive team with regards to shareholder reporting, project and product costing and cost management, exchange control compliance and IP processes.
• All statutory returns are submitted accurately and on time, with payment deadlines met (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, OID) as well as support the annual audits. Ensuring that they are completed within three months of year end.
• Support the invoicing process as well as contract management with new and existing customers and the associated legal terms of those contracts.
• Implement key financial and legal strategic projects including but not limited to transfer pricing studies.
• Management of outsourced legal and bookkeeping agencies to support the group activities. 
• Support the executive team in the implementation of the internationalisation strategy through ensuring operations in the Cape Town remain efficient and continue to perform.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is typically required.
• 3-5 years as an Accountant or Financial Manager.
• Experience in planning and budgeting as well executing on budget.
• Knowledge of key financial business processes and functions
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in either the startup space or the manufacturing industry, would be advantageous.
• You should be well-versed in modern accounting software and automation processes, with an emphasis on cloud-based packages.
