Purpose of the Position:
- Responsible for the accuracy of management reports, content budgets and forecasts, and financial planning. Support the business unit in analysing and improving financial results and analysis for Rights negotiations. Here the most attention will be paid to Sports Rights cost analysis and modelling. Managing the Financial Plan and Analysis Function (FP&A) in preparation of budgets & forecasts, monthly reporting, variance analysis and compliance activities.
Key Performance Objectives
- Rights Management
- Review and management of Rights inventory
- Sign-off vendor invoices
- Sports Rights strategy updates and presentations
- Regulatory reporting input and quota tracking
- Execution of finance relevant sections for new deals loaded onto Synergy (Fee, License Period and Payment terms)
- Deal re-negotiation analysis and related financial modelling
- Inventory assessment and management (past due and expiring content, system costing errors, content aging)
- Supervise month-end processes in the content financial system (Synergy)
- Preparation and presentation of budgets and forecast of the Sport Rights Budget with detailed analysis and commentary
- Perform Financial Planning and Analysis
- Co-ordinate, collate and manage the delivery of SuperSport reporting for Internal & External audit purposes
- Provide guidance and facilitate the target setting, budget and forecast processes for assigned events, divisions and/or regions and ensure it aligns with Business Unit objectives
- Manage the reporting process and compliance in the respective Business Units:
- Review and submit consolidated 36-month Treasury cash flow forecasts
- Review and submit consolidated 36-month rolling forecasts of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statement
- Prepare monthly reporting pack (including financial performance and variance analyses of actuals against plans, forecasts, prior periods)
- Prepare performance reporting for monthly and year to date results against budget and forecasts
- Provide meaningful ad hoc financial analysis as required
- Proactively partner with the business to identify and evaluate opportunities to improve bottom line business performance and ensure that change initiatives are implemented
- Manage the Tax and VAT computations with Shared Services Centre
- Review of annual financial statements for company, joint ventures and subsidiaries
- Work with Group & SSC teams to further improve reporting for the business unit
Qualifications
- Must have a CA qualification.
Experience / Skills
- Has about 6 years of experience (Accounting, Finance or Business Administration);
- Business Partnering & Reporting Experience
- Sound knowledge of IFRS and Taxation rules
- SAP & HFM system experience
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Passion for sport
- Experience in broadcasting and sport industry would be advantageous
- Experience managing a team
