- The Financial Accountant’s role is to support financial decision-making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating, reconciling, and reporting financial data by collaborating with various stakeholders where necessary.The Financial Accountant’s role is to support financial decision-making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating, reconciling, and reporting financial data by collaborating with various stakeholders where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly Standard Journals
- Provide assistance with monthly HFM reporting where required.
- Perform General Ledger reconciliations and provide meaningful information regarding reconciling items. Long and unusual items are identified, and appropriate action are taken.
- Analyze and interpret data to provide financial management information for decision-making.
- Prepares monthly statements by collecting data; analyzing and investigating variances; summarizing data, information, and trends.
- Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
- Verify supporting documentation for validity, accuracy and completeness and capture transactions on the accounting system.
- Manage interface exceptions effectively and ensure that appropriate, timely actions are taken.
- Inter-company transaction reconciliation and review.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the departmental, company processes and procedures.
- Assist in the intercompany reconciliations and payments
- Assist with Payroll recons and Journals
- Assist in monthly and year-end closure process.
- Assistance with internal and external audits.
- Ad hoc accounting projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience in similar field.
- Experience working with African Entities

- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
- Above average knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
