Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Financial Business Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the financial software applications and ensuring that the functionality of these systems supports the needs of all its users and business processes.

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.
  • Gather user requirements through interviews, workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics based on requirements analysis.
  • Work with stakeholders and project teams to prioritize requirements.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Conduct research on software products to meet requirements and support purchasing efforts.
  • Assist in selecting requirements documentation software solutions.

Operational Management

  • Resolve problems and queries by following transaction audit trails.
  • Work with service providers to ensure timely resolution of queries within service level agreements.
  • Participate in quality assurance (QA) of financial systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Maintain user access profiles and ensure security rules and risk management are documented.
  • Translate user requirements into functional requirements for developers and service providers.
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and conformity.
  • Develop prototypes and process models based on user requirements.
  • Create specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide developers and project teams.
  • Conduct peer reviews of business requirements for accurate interpretation.
  • Assist in translating user requirements into feasible options and communicate these to stakeholders.
  • Manage and track requirements throughout the project lifecycle; adjust as needed.
  • Communicate changes and enhancements to project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven experience in business and technical requirements analysis, modeling, verification, and methodology development for financial systems.
  • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software solutions or systems.
  • Ability to create clear and systematic requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills applicable to systems issues and products.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources.
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.

Qualifications

  • Matric/National Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • B.Com in Information Systems or equivalent.
  • More than 5 years of experience as a Financial Business Analyst.
  • Clear criminal and ITC record.
