Financial Controller for the Transactional Products and Solutions Business (12766) needed at Investec

Description

• We are looking for a highly skilled accountant to take full ownership of all financial aspects of our TPS business, including performing financial analysis, providing financial insights, identifying risks, ensuring controls are in place to mitigate risks and ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily/weekly cash reconciliations
• Preparation and processing of the general ledger monthly journals
• Prepare, review and present annual budgets, forecasts and monthly management reports
• Monthly balance sheet substantiation
• Pro-active analysis of financial information, including margin analysis
• Identification of trends inherent in financial information
• Strategic recommendations based on analysis of financial and business information
• Challenge and influence business strategy and key decisions
• Work with finance community to ensure that all risks have been identified, documented and mitigated with the relevant controls
• Take responsibility for maintaining documented policies and process documents
• Deal with a variety of internal and external audit queries
• Preparation of presentations
• Ad-hoc projects

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• CA (SA) or B Comm with Accounting
• 3+ years’ experience in a Financial Accountant/Management Accountant role preferably within a banking environment
• Excellent accounting skills
• Strong time management skills
• Excellent excel skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure, managing conflicting priorities

• Knowledge of JDE and Essbase highly desirable
