Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant Post Graduate Qualification preferred.
  • At least 5 to 10 years of Sales Experience in the International Freight Forwarding Industry.
  • Strong understanding of air and sea forwarding processes, regulations, and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems; CargoWise (CW) experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic environments and manage stress effectively.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of motivation and sales orientation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

New Business Development:

  • Generate personal new Forwarding sales to meet annual trade lane volume targets.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential prospects to increase market share.
  • Coordinate new business accounts secured by the FSM and assess potential opportunities within the inter-company pipeline.

Communication and Liaison:

  • Act as a liaison between internal departments, international partners, and clients to ensure effective resolution of issues and adherence to client requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with foreign and domestic offices, department managers, and upper management regarding service quality and related issues.

Sales Planning and Execution:

  • Define and quantify new Air & Ocean Forwarding targets in collaboration with BD Commercial and Trade Lane teams.
  • Develop and execute sales plans to achieve growth objectives, supported by comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Proposals:

  • Prepare SOPs and Forwarding Rate Proposals based on customer requirements to ensure quality and profitable service delivery.
  • Work closely with the management team and operating staff to implement SOPs and maintain service standards.

Relationship Building and Diplomacy:

  • Build strong rapport and credibility with clients through a consultative approach.
  • Exercise diplomacy in resolving customer inquiries and issues, maintaining integrity and ethical standards.
