Their payment solution aims to alleviate debt burdens, enabling shoppers to pay as they earn, free from the threat of accumulating charges. What you will be doing:

  • Influence security, scalability, reliability, and high-availability across distributed systems and select cost-efficient, performant technologies.
  • Design and ship scalable, event-driven, serverless systems on AWS, focusing on fraud-resistant payment systems and high-throughput marketplace features.
  • Develop robust back-end services using Node.js and TypeScript, and user interfaces with Vue.js and React.
  • Implement and manage data services, deploy applications using serverless functions, utilize AWS CDK for infrastructure automation, and develop mobile web applications with Capacitor.
  • Develop and maintain observability (monitoring, metrics, alerting), participate in code reviews, resolve complex production issues, and mentor other engineers.

What our client is looking for:

  • Expertise in both back-end (Node.js/TypeScript) and front-end (Vue.js/React) development.
  • Strong, hands-on experience building, deploying, and optimising scalable, event-driven applications on AWS using serverless components (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, EventBridge/SQS/SNS) and CDK for IaC.
  • Proven experience building high-throughput Node.js/TypeScript back-ends supporting millions of monthly transactions.
  • Competence in profiling and optimising serverless workloads (e.g., cold-start mitigation, concurrency tuning, cost/latency trade-offs).
  • Experience with building reusable components (React/Vue) and developing/deploying web-based mobile applications using Capacitor.
  • Commitment to writing clean, well-tested code, active participation in code reviews, and resolving complex production issues.
