Description
- This role focuses on the performance of controls to ensure accuracy, quality and efficiency relating to instrument pricing. Analyse and validate security-valuation exceptions arising daily through exception management process in an automated middleware solution.
Data Sourcing and Verification
- Obtain and validate daily pricing for all securities held in assigned funds.
- Apply knowledge of financial instruments to ensure that securities are correctly valued.
- Assist in the verification and reconciliation of pricing data with fund holdings and other financial information.
- Monitor and execute instructions and queries relating to instrument valuation (include all instrument types, different vendors).
Pricing Data Management:
- Perform scrubbing checks to identify outliers, stale prices, and large price movements.
- Apply exposure to vendor systems to source instrument information for valuation.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Communicate with external pricing vendors to resolve discrepancies or data feed issues.
- Identify risks and perform controls to ensure accuracy, quality and efficiency.
Compliance and Regulatory:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., SEC, AIFMD) and industry standards for pricing and valuation.
- Assist in liaising with auditors and regulatory bodies, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Monitor changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to pricing processes.
Process Improvement:
- Assist in identifying opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of pricing and scrubbing processes.
- Implement best practices and leverage technology to improve workflows.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of pricing procedures and documentation.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Foster existing business relationships to ensure effective and efficient delivery, working with compliance, and operations teams to gather necessary data and insights.
- Maintain relationships with pricing vendors and data providers to ensure timely and accurate data feeds.
- Collaborate with external service providers, such as custodians and transfer agents, to resolve discrepancies.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations as required.
Ad-Hoc Tasks:
- Perform ad-hoc accounting and reporting tasks as requested by clients or management.
- Ensure ad-hoc requests are handled effi ciently and accurately
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 – 2 year’s related experience, with specific experience in pricing and valuation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software is advantageous.
- Good understanding of Financial Markets and Financial Instruments.
