Position Summary
- The Future Pro – Merchandising and Licensing will support inventory management, product development, and licensing coordination across NBA Africa and BAL retail operations. This role involves market research, presentation development, merchandise tracking, and in-arena retail support. It also contributes to stock reconciliation and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure merchandising efforts align with brand and business goals.
Major Responsibilities
Retail & Merchandising Operations
- Provide operational and administrative support for daily workflows and seasonal initiatives
- Assist with stock intake, reconciliation, and organization to maintain inventory accuracy
- Track and distribute staff merchandise across departments in a timely manner
Strategic Support
- Develop presentations, reports, and meeting documentation to inform decision-making
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to guide product assortment and pricing strategies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with marketing, events, and logistics teams to align merchandising with brand objectives
- Support in-arena retail operations, including point-of-sale setup, customer service, and post-event reporting
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Highly organized and able to work independently
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in logistics and retail environments
Experience Needed
- 2 years of postgraduate work experience in merchandising or licensing
Educational Background Required
- Higher education institution (vocational school, professional degree, university degree, or master’s degree) in Business, Logistics, or a related field
