Governance And Compliance Officer needed at University of Venda

Job Requirements

• A relevant Honours degree or NQF Level 8 qualification in Business Management, Law, Finance, Audit, Accounting, Risk Management, or Business Administration.
• Active membership with the Compliance Institute of South Africa.
• At least 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or External Audit.
• Possession of a Compliance Practitioner (SA) designation or certification as a Certified ISO 37301 Lead Implementer will be considered an added advantage.

Duties:

• Lead the development and maintenance of the compliance universe, ensuring that relevant obligations are effectively cascaded across divisions.
• Provide support to management in the identification, assessment, and management of compliance obligations within their respective areas.
• Continuously monitor regulatory developments to identify and respond to changes in the university’s regulatory landscape.
• Design and implement compliance risk monitoring plans, conducting independent assessments in alignment with the central compliance monitoring programme.
• Compile and present management reports detailing compliance operations, institutionalisation efforts, and progress updates.
