In addition, the successful candidate should have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting, and dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with the Designers, Garments Technologists, Merchandisers Planners and Design Room Manager.
  • To alter patterns on the Gerber system.
  • To rate and Grade patterns on the Gerber system and produce in line with the production critical path.
  • Experience in digitizing, rating, grading and marker making on both wovens and knits across multiple product types.
  • Pattern Digitising and creating graded production spec sheets.
  • To produce markers in the most accurate and cost-effective manner in line with the production critical path.
  • Prioritise styles for grading in line with critical Path deadlines for production plan.
  • Creating all production markers and Lay Plans.
  • Responsible for overall garment ratings and fabric utilization
  • Understanding different size curves and ratios.
  • Responsible for accurately grading all patterns using existing grade rules and whenever necessary, creating new grade rules to support the fit and styling of the garments.
  • Responsible for preparation of production markers tailored to specific orders and accommodating customized style adjustments.
  • Responsible for finding the most efficient use of fabric across multiple colours and fabric base to help reduce fabric wastage.
  • Knowledge of woven and knitted fabrics, limitations and requirements when creating production markers.
  • Liaising with the Department Head.
  • Management of the system, which includes the plotter and loading of paper, as well as replacement of ink cartridges

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have 5 -10 years’ experience using Gerber.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Must have experience of working with fashion outerwear and Tailoring.
  • Gerber and grading knowledge is essential.
