Description

  • To manage grain quality, ensuring sufficient good-quality maize is available for the maize mills to manufacture quality products efficiently. Additionally, ensure all mills adhere to strict hygiene and pest control standards.

Requirements

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Maize Grading Certificate
  • PCO certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maize grading, hygiene, and pest control management in a food manufacturing environment

Key Performance Areas

Maize Stock Levels and Quality:

  • Manage stock levels and ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
  • Compile weekly stock and quality reports.
  • Engage with silos to ensure maize quality requirements are met.
  • Handle disputes and manage non-conformances.

Pest Control:

  • Implement and update the Integrated Pest Management Program (IPMP).
  • Plan and follow up on treatment schedules.
  • Conduct inspections and audits, and compile reports.

Hygiene:

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
  • Conduct monthly hygiene inspections and follow up on actions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on new pest control technologies.
  • Attend relevant meetings and audits.

Training:

  • Develop and conduct training on grading, pest control, and hygiene.
