Description
- To manage grain quality, ensuring sufficient good-quality maize is available for the maize mills to manufacture quality products efficiently. Additionally, ensure all mills adhere to strict hygiene and pest control standards.
Requirements
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12
- Maize Grading Certificate
- PCO certificate
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maize grading, hygiene, and pest control management in a food manufacturing environment
Key Performance Areas
Maize Stock Levels and Quality:
- Manage stock levels and ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
- Compile weekly stock and quality reports.
- Engage with silos to ensure maize quality requirements are met.
- Handle disputes and manage non-conformances.
Pest Control:
- Implement and update the Integrated Pest Management Program (IPMP).
- Plan and follow up on treatment schedules.
- Conduct inspections and audits, and compile reports.
Hygiene:
- Ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
- Conduct monthly hygiene inspections and follow up on actions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on new pest control technologies.
- Attend relevant meetings and audits.
Training:
- Develop and conduct training on grading, pest control, and hygiene.
