Graphic Designer (Warrant Officer) needed at South African Police Service

Generic Requirements: 

• Applicant must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post; 
• Be in possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on at least NQF 4; 
• Be proficient in at least two official languages, of which one must be English;
• Must be a SA citizen; 
• Must have no criminal record or pending criminal / department cases; 
• Be in possession of at least a valid light driver’s license; 
• Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and fingerprint verification; 
• Relevant courses in the field of the post may be an advantage 
• Must not have visible tattoos when wearing SAPS uniform. 

Additional Requirements: 

• Be in possession of three (3) year Degree or Diploma recorded on the National Learner Record Database on NQF level 6 or higher in Graphic Design or Multimedia Design; 
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the field of the post of which one (1) may be a 12 months SASSETA funded internship programme; 
• Must be proficient in Adobe creative suite; 
• Must be proficient on Macintosh and be able to work quickly and accurately in relevant design software; 
• Must be able to self-manage and work within tight deadlines. 

Core Functions: 

• Interprets creative briefs and proposes corresponding design solutions. 
• Develops graphics and layouts for print and interactive media – logo design & corporate identity; brochures, advertising campaigns, websites, POS etc. 
• Produce high quality work while meeting the constrains of cost and time as specified in the briefs; 
• Prepare final artwork files for production/media; 
• Follow the procedures of the studio workflow system; 
• Regular cleanup, update and back-up of working files.
