Overview

  • Strategize, drive and integrate strategic procurement at site to support multi-category spend with focus on procurement spend analytics, procurement savings, supply risk mitigation, supplier performance evaluation, tendering, benchmark evaluation, etc., and develop sustainable, robust and cost-efficient procurement processes whilst implementing cost savings initiatives contributing to an effective supply chain.

Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy, Spend Analytics and Integration 

  • Develop and implement strategies for procurement to ensure cost-effectiveness and mitigate supply risks aligned to overall business objective.
  • Bringing in external data for internal and external benchmarking, in combination with the analytics to support savings opportunities for the site operations.
  • Provide the site with dashboards for prescriptive, advanced, predictive analytics and data mining as well as ad-hoc analytics for procurement
  • Be the first point of contact for procurement stakeholders for all their analytics requirements
  • Accountable for developing and driving the sourcing strategies to support multi-category procurement spend.
  • Support the team to prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations and proposals, evaluate and advise on competitive offerings to determine the overall best offer for a product or service while overseeing relationships with external partners.

Supply Risk Mitigation 

  • Support the site team to develop and implement strategies for procurement to ensure cost-effectiveness and mitigate supply risks aligned to overall business objective.

Procurement Management

  • Facilitate, track and support procurement strategies aimed at optimizing cost and material availability/ supplier reliability.
  • Build & nurture strategic relations with key suppliers to ensure preferential treatment to Aspen in terms of technical assistance, pricing & delivery of materials.
  • Identify, evaluate and select suppliers for the new projects and support the group operations team in product costing, benchmarking, and cost optimization.
  • Support the site procurement team in all the procurement initiatives including budgetary matters, spend analytics, procurement savings, supply risk mitigation, supplier performance evaluation, tendering, benchmark evaluation, etc.

Procurement Savings 

  • Support and ensure to achieve the target procurement savings for the site by close coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities with top spent items across all categories to reduce the materials cost of goods.
  • Manage suppliers to support site procurement teams to ensure that supplier deliverables and costing are aligned with group operations expectations.
  • Achieving stringent cost reduction targets & implement and continuous improvement initiatives for sustainability.
  • Manage the de-risking & business continuity plans.
  • Guide category leads in implementing procurement & negotiation strategies based on nature of product, criticality, spend & market dynamics
  • Implement, track, and deliver the new supplier qualification projects by coordinating with site teams for timely implementation.

Requirements
Skills Required

Background/experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma ideally related to procurement 
  • Ideally 10 years’ experience in procurement
  • 3 years’ of pharmaceutical, FMCG or chemical industry experience with knowledge of cross functional activities
