Job Description
- To manage all aspects of the Derivatives Clearing portfolio to achieve the set performance indicators and revenue targets
Essential Functions:
Strategy:
- Develop and execute the Derivatives Clearing strategy.
- Develop and implement business plans to achieve revenue targets, other performance indicators and client expectations whilst managing costs as set out in the approved strategy.
- Act as a solutioning expert, bringing deep technical understanding and support across assigned solution portfolio, with a focus on high complexity execution.
- Provide local market insight and leverage the insight when formulating the strategy
Financial:
- Contribute to setting the budget, monitor actual expenditure, consolidate and aggregate financial performance and profitability and validate investment business cases, priorities, and decision making.
Client:
- Pro-actively drive initiatives to enhance client experience
- Build and maintain relationships with clients
- Research, collate data and understand the industry client base and market, providing input into the portfolio value proposition
- Maintain client survey scores (CSI) above 9
- Grow the market share by onboarding new clients
Industry
- Build relationships with key regulatory bodies / associations and engage in market advocacy to proactively identify new opportunities, influence and lobby.
- Implement industry changes such as new regulations and new product lines
- Product development
- Follow and adapt within group guidelines, monitor and lead local NPCs. Monitor solution utilization against performance indicators, to identify areas for improvement that will increase their return-on-investment.
Risk:
- Drive a proactive risk culture in the business
- Manage risk such that there are no negative audit findings or significant risk incidents in the division
- Adhere to all governance frameworks and structures
People management:
- Manage the Derivatives Team to ensure effectiveness and high-level execution against agreed plans and strategy
- Drive team training and development and ensure succession plans are in place
- Drive a high performance culture in line with the Standard Bank values
- Own and manage internal and external awareness, internal training and publishing collateral. Communicate solution updates, enhancements and market trends to client facing teams (Coverage, Sales, Implementation, Service) to enhance their solutioning capability across origination and client service efforts .
Qualifications
- Type of Qualification: First Degree
- Field of Study: Business Commerce -Preferred
Experience Required
- Solutioning
- 8-10 years
- Demonstrates knowledge of Derivatives Clearing. Assimilates and applies knowledge to identify, plan and solution for multiple clients
- 8-10 years
- Adjusts approach to client need and context and articulates the benefits and future applications of Derivatives Clearing in an aspirational manner.
- 8-10 years
- Contributes to the development of client experience strategies and executes through bespoke client engagements. Partners with other providers to enhance and support the client experience.
- 8-10 years
- Uses and packages insights from the macro environment and relationships to better manage sustainable solutioning.
- 8-10 years
- Experience in leading and managing people; coordinates and directs groups; developing talent.
- 8-10 years
- Champions the simplification of Solutioning ways of working to enable better and faster client outcomes.

- Demonstrate a track record of identifying and driving the implementation of alternative / multiple solutions across multiple markets contributing to market growth.

- Manage continuous improvement of internal solutioning system, address and guide team regarding trouble shooting, errors and liaise with IT Department in case of technical issues and enhancements, linked to operational requirements and compliance
- 8-10 years
- Master of core functional area knowledge and how it fits within the firm and competitive environment. Broad knowledge across multiple areas and business lines.
- 8-10 years
- Manage continuous improvement of internal solutioning system, address and guide team regarding trouble shooting, errors and liaise with IT Department in case of technical issues and enhancements, linked to operational requirements and compliance.

- Drive and manage the display and understanding of the relevant legislation, regulations and solution requirements within relevant geographies.
