Requirements
- Post graduate degree in BCom Accounting, Financial Management, or related field
- CA(SA) qualification
- 10+ years’ experience in information technology, finance, or business operations in banking and/or insurance environments
- Exposure to holistic business operations (Finance, IT, Operations etc.)
- Exposure to Innovation, Digitization and Problem solving in a related environment
- Understanding of SQL (SQL Server 2014, SSIS), Microsoft Power Apps (Power Flow, Power BI, Power Query) and Visual Basic advantageous
Duties & Responsibilities
Internal Process
- Lead and direct the Product Control, Middle Office, Back Office, and Collateral Management functions in support of Balance Sheet Management objectives.
- Responsible for Solvency Assessment Management regulatory balance sheet stress reporting, IFRS financial reporting, and Tax-related reporting.
- Act as key contact to external audit as it relates to BSM investments operations and reporting.
- Represent the BSM investments operations and reporting function at various forums.
- Prepare and present reports to various stakeholders to provide feedback at various forums.
- Build, maintain and manage stakeholder relationships with various internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration and achieve business objectives.
- Implement and monitor best practice standards aligned to regulatory and business requirements.
- Develop operating strategies to support BSM Investment Operations to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Provide the strategic direction and oversight for the BSM Investment Operations function in line with the BSM goals.
- Drive operational excellence within the function in order to ensure that clients/stakeholders receive optimal service.
- Drive automation, operational efficiencies, and optimization initiatives in a cost-effective manner.
- Facilitate strategic partnerships with business stakeholders to understand business priorities, challenges, and requirements.
- Oversee and monitor risk related to BSM Investments Operations and Reporting aligned to risk framework and regulatory requirements.
- Create and implement risk mitigation initiatives as required based on risk assessment and changing requirements and operational environments.
- Oversee operational and periodic reporting aligned to requirements and service level agreements and identify opportunity for improvement and potential risks.
- Create, implement, and track operational roadmap aligning BSM investment operations and reporting objectives with Liability Driven Investment function and BSM overall.
