Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Growth and Commercial Expansion

  • Drive sustainable financial growth by expanding the client’s Retail Media Network (RMN) commercial activities and developing new revenue streams.
  • Oversee the commercialisation of the client’s offering, including maintaining and updating the Advertising Rate Card.
  • Collaborate with the advertising product team to create and monetise bespoke advertising solutions.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, manage, mentor, and performance manage the New Business Development and Client Service teams.
  • Foster a high-performing sales culture, ensuring continuous skill development and alignment with strategic goals.

Strategic Sales Management

  • Establish robust sales management processes and use key performance metrics to monitor and improve commercial activity outcomes.
  • Drive the development and execution of sales strategies, including forecasting, pipeline building, and budget planning, to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Provide actionable insights into core sales performance challenges and implement effective solutions to address them.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Cultivate relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met to drive retention and profitability.
  • Identify and acquire new customers, fostering long-term, profitable partnerships.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering world-class materials and interactions.

Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging opportunities and anticipate market shifts.
  • Develop business plans to capitalise on expansion, business development, and competitive advantages.
  • Create and implement strategies to position the client as the leader in Retail Media Advertising across Africa.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with diverse teams, including Marketing, Retail Buying, BI Data, Legal, Finance, and Product, to align commercial initiatives with broader company objectives.
  • Support the packaging department and monetising of advertising services.

Financial and Performance Accountability

  • Set financial targets, develop budgets, and monitor progress to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Prepare and present detailed performance reports to executive management.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in commercial strategy, sales leadership, and revenue growth, preferably in Retail Media or Advertising.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in building, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in market analysis, business development, and client relationship management.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to create actionable strategies based on data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a commitment to delivering world-class customer interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
