JOB DESCRIPTION
- As the Head of Growth, you will be responsible for developing and executing innovative customer acquisition and retention strategies for incremental revenue impact. This role requires a collaborative leader with a proven track record in e-commerce growth, proficiency in customer lifecycle + value management, segmentation and a data-driven approach to achieve key commercial performance indicators.
RESPONSIBILITIES / WHAT YOU’LL DO
CUSTOMER GROWTH:
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to acquire new customers, leveraging digital marketing, partnerships, and innovative customer acquisition channels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing channels, platforms, and commercial offerings with customer acquisition goals.
- CUSTOMER LIFECYCLE + VALUE MANAGEMENT:
- Manage the customer journey from conversion (first buy) to advocacy, optimising the entire sales funnel for maximum customer lifetime value.
- Implement testing and data-driven optimisation strategies to enhance conversion rates.
- SEGMENTATION, TARGETING AND PERSONALISATION:
- Utilise customer segmentation strategies to tailor marketing messages and promotions, ensuring a personalised and relevant experience for different customer segments.
- Work closely with data teams to derive actionable insights for targeted marketing efforts.
- COMMERCIAL STRATEGY:
- Develop and implement a strategic communications plan (often monthly) to drive customer engagement, increase purchase frequency, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and analyse the performance of commercial campaigns – iterating based on results.
- Explore and implement innovative ways to capitalise on the existing customer base, including upselling, cross-selling, and strategic partnerships (with the partnerships team).
- COMMERCIAL ASSETS:
- Support the development of commercial assets, including compelling content, visuals, and shopping events that resonate with the target audience.
- Ensure brand consistency and a strong commercial presence across all customer touchpoints.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Customer acquisition
- Customers retention
- Maximising revenue from new and existing customers (Customer lifetime value)
- Increasing frequency of sale (FoS)
- Monthly Gross Revenue
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Com or B.Bus.Sci) in Marketing, Economics, IT, or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of 8 years of experience in a senior growth or marketing role, ideally within the e-commerce industry.
- Proven track record of successfully driving customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth within a retail environment.
- Expert knowledge of digital marketing channels, analytics, and advanced proficiency in customer segmentation.
- Experience in effectively managing commercial assets and developing compelling marketing materials.
- Analytical mindset with a strong ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, fostering collaboration and driving results.
- Confident presentation skills, at C-Suite level, combined with the ability to prepare high-quality reports, processes, and documentation.
