ROLE OVERVIEW

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team.
  • As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients. You will work closely with all departments to identify potential hazards and risks, as well as provide training and support to promote a culture of safety throughout the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Risk identification and documentation, risk analysis, risk planning, and risk monitoring and control.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety protocols are followed on all job sites.
  • Provide safety training and education to employees and contractors.
  • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, and make recommendations for prevention.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, and inspections.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations, and make necessary updates to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Communicate safety regulations and procedures to clients and subcontractors.
  • Conduct safety orientations for new employees and contractors.
  • Manage safety budget and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Samtrac qualification (or equivalent accredited qualification).
  • SACPCMP registration.
  • Working on heights qualification (accredited training certificate).
  • Fall Protection Planner qualification (accredited training certificate)
  • Preliminary Incident Investigation qualification (accredited training certificate).
  • Registered in terms of SACPCMP as a CHSO, Candidate CHSO will also be acceptable certificate).
  • At least 5 years experience in the HSE environment preferably in Construction/Property Management.
  • At least 3 years in a managerial position leading a team of 10 OHS Officers.
  • Experience in the implementation and maintenance of safety systems in the workplace according to the OHS ACT & Regulations.
  • Drivers licence.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proven track record of implementing and maintaining successful health and safety programs.
