Description

  • We’re looking for an HR Data & Payroll Analyst who can turn raw data into meaningful insight — and ensure that every line, column, and decimal contributes to strategic, people-focused decision-making.
  • This role is part detective, part data artist, and part payroll pro — ideal for someone who can balance analytical rigour with a good sense of humour (and maybe a strong coffee).

What You’ll Do (and Do Brilliantly)

HR Data Management & Integrity

  • Keep our HR and payroll data squeaky clean, accurate, and compliant.
  • Reconcile data across systems monthly and ensure everyone plays by the data-quality rulebook.
  • Validate employee master data and benefits — because precision is power.

Data Analysis, Reporting & BI Dashboards

  • Build and maintain interactive HR dashboards in Excel and Power BI that make managers say, “Wow!”
  • Deliver crisp reports on headcount, overtime, leave, and cost trends — then automate it all.
  • Turn data into stories that help shape smarter HR strategies.

Payroll Support & Stand-In Duties

  • Validate imports, perform reconciliations, and keep payroll humming in harmony.
  • Stand in for the Payroll Officer when needed — because data waits for no one.
  • Conduct variance analysis to keep everything perfectly in sync.

System Maintenance & Integration

  • Maintain and update configurations in HR systems (Sage People 300, Jarrison, and friends).
  • Work with IT and HR to improve interfaces and automate reporting magic.
  • Test and document changes like a pro.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure every report meets BCEA, LRA, and tax standards.
  • Keep sensitive HR data under lock and key — POPIA says thank you.
  • Support Employment Equity and statutory reporting.

People Support & Collaboration

  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Management to deliver data-driven insight.
  • Guide colleagues on how to make the most of HR systems and reporting tools.
  • Help shape conversations and decisions with your data-savvy brilliance.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • A diploma or certificate in HR, Payroll, or Data Analytics, plus Power BI certification will score you major points.
  • 5 plus years’ experience in payroll administration and HR data management.

Skills

  • Excel and Power BI mastery.
  • Payroll and HR system literacy (Sage People 300, Jarrison, etc.).
  • Data validation, reconciliation, and storytelling through reports.
  • Time management, organisation, and a flair for detail.

Someone who is:

  • Analytical, ethical, and methodical.
  • Self-driven with a service-oriented mindset.
  • A problem solver with sharp communication skills.

And has:
