Key Areas of Impact:
Employee Relations
- Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation, including and not limited to BCEA, LRA, SDA, OHASA, etc.
- Coordinate and set up quarterly union and shop steward meetings, records and disseminates meeting minutes following each meeting
- Primary point of contact for all warnings, disciplinary hearings and CCMA
- Ensures that disciplinaries and grievances are dealt with in accordance with company policies with support and guidance from the HR Officers and HR Managers
- Upload and capture all ER matters on the SAP ER system
- Advise and consult on Employee Relations issues with HR teams and Line Managers (Coastal and inland regions)
- Support business to ensure that appropriate disciplinary and incapacity procedures are implemented
- Investigate disciplinary matters in Field Marketing
- Support Field Marketing by initiating and chairing disciplinary hearings
- Assist in formulation of charges and approval of sanctions
- Build a close relationship with the Field Marketing Operations and HR Teams
- Establish and maintain relationships between trade unions, management and HR
- Support business in managing CCMA disputes and attend to CCMA matters (including arbitrations and collective disputes) on behalf of Field Marketing
- Assist with consultation processes with unions and third parties
- Stay abreast of relevant Employee Relations legislation and events in appropriate industry and statutory bodies and advising management on Employee Relations legislative compliance
Projects and Campaigns Management
- Assist the HR Managers with research and implementation of all projects and campaigns
- Support the HR Officers in driving and managing all Employee Relations related projects and campaigns nationally
- Drive campaigns to educate and raise awareness to Field Marketing employees and minimize risk in the business
Human Resource support
- Assist and support regions with HR responsibilities such as, training and development, performance management, succession planning, benefits administration
- Stand-in for HR Officer as and when required
Reporting
- Maintain accurate ER records and databases, including employee warnings and disciplinary packs filed within the relevant filing systems
- Ensure monthly capturing of all ER and CCMA cases on SAP
- Ensure monthly reporting of ER and CCMA matters to relevant business stakeholders
- Conduct monthly and quarterly Employee Relations’ trend analysis and report back to the regions and HR Management
- Assist HR Officers with monthly and quarterly HR reporting and trend analysis
- Maintain and provide accurate Employee Relations statistics, reporting and information
What It Takes to Succeed:
Experience that set you up for success:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Human Resource Officer (Employee Relations) role or similar position with a corporate environment
- FMCG industry experience will be preferable
Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:
- A completed Degree/Diploma in HR / Industrial Psychology or equivalent is required.
- A completed Degree/Diploma in National Labour Relations will be advantageous.
Additional Requirements that will enhance your impact for success:
- Strong knowledge in Labour Laws and HR Generalist best practices
- Travel is required across the Field Marketing Business at short notice
- Must have own vehicle with reliable transport
