  • The Health, Safety and Environment leader will provide subject matter expertise to the Honeywell Process Solutions Business Group across South Africa and be the key point of contact for the allocated districts. Reporting to the South Africa HSE Leader, you will assist Business Managers and Leaders in delivering the IA-HPS- HSE Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and drive the company further toward a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance to Honeywell corporate requirements and legislation
  • Join Global IA HSE Centre of excellence projects based on assignment.
  • Participate in Business contract HSE risk review.
  • Drive Business continuity program and practice.
  • Assist in the development and review of safety management plans.
  • Audit Honeywell managed facilities to ensure the Company is compliant to statutory and corporate requirements and working to approved risk management practices.
  • Manage key projects as determined by the South Africa HSE Leader.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Formal NQF Level 5 or higher in Health, Safety, Environmental/ Industrial safety
  • SACPCMP Registration 
  • Understanding of ISO Standards – Preferred
  • OSH Act qualification 
  • Construction Regulations 
  • Legal Liability 
  • HIRA 
  • Evacuation Coordinator/ Marshall 
  • At minimum First Aid Lever 1 
  • Hazardous Chemical Substances training Preferred.
  • COID Act Training Preferred
  • Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis 
  • Fall Protection Plan Training 

We Value:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a full time HSE role with demonstrated HSE operational and leadership experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legislation and best practice in injury management and rehabilitation.
  • Industry sector experience and / or qualifications: construction industry, Refining, Offshore oil, and gas, mining and minerals and Industrial Automation
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and initiate workplace change.
  • Experience in all aspects of training needs analysis, training course design and developing and running training sessions.
  • Ability to model, influence and encourage positive behaviors.
  • Good investigative, analytical, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and foster networking between various areas and departments.
  • Ability to effectively coach others and impart knowledge / information to all levels
