KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Strategic HR Alignment

  • Partner with Executive Management to develop solutions for people-related business issues in response to business strategy and operational needs.
  • Provide advice on HR and People initiatives to support business goals.
  • Coordinate and implement HR and People initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Kagiso Media HR Director and HR Community to develop and implement HR strategies.

 Talent management and Sourcing

  • Identify critical talent needs and develop initiatives to address them.
  • Lead talent management processes, including recruitment, induction, and placement.
  • Foster employee development through training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Facilitate collaboration with recruitment agencies and manage psychometric assessments as required.
  • Drive succession and career path planning, ensuring integration with performance appraisals and staffing plans.

 Skills Development

  • Develop and implement a Skills Development Plan aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify and recommend training opportunities to upskill employees.
  • Ensure compliance by preparing and submitting the Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report.
  • Engage with Group HR to expand training offerings.
  • Maintain accurate training records in the HR system.

 Driving Organisational Excellence: Structure, Capacity, Culture & Change

  • Conduct cultural diagnostics and facilitate workshops to shape the organization’s culture.
  • Coach leadership on behaviors that support desired cultural outcomes.
  • Advise on organizational structure, role definitions, and leadership sourcing decisions.
  • Manage employee relations and communication strategies, promoting company values and standards.
  • Lead wellness initiatives, team-building events, and climate surveys to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Promote and manage the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Ensure effective implementation of transformation initiatives and oversee employee onboarding.

 Employment Equity and BBBEE

  • Assist in developing and implementing Employment Equity and Transformation Plans.
  • Drive initiatives to meet Employment Equity and BBBEE goals, including recruitment, development, and retention.
  • Prepare and submit Employment Equity reports to the Department of Labour.
  • Ensure BBBEE score maximization through strategic alignment with Employment Equity and Skills Development.

 Performance Management & Rewards

  • Manage the Performance Management process across the organisation.
  • Develop and deliver training on performance appraisals for management and staff.
  • Align individual, team, and organizational goals with company vision and strategy.
  • Oversee reward mechanisms, ensuring alignment with company objectives and performance outcomes.
  • Manage poor performance and implement Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Ensure job grading accuracy and participate in the Group Grading Committee.

 HR Policies and Procedures

  • Develop and implement HR policies aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies in all HR matters, including disciplinary actions and grievance resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of industrial relations processes and ensure statutory compliance.

 General HR Functions

  • Manage HR services and administration, including budget management and payroll coordination.
  • Prepare and submit reports for Manco, Exco, and compliance purposes.
  • Analyse HR data and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure statutory compliance, including PAYE, Skills Development, and Employment Equity.
  • Administer salary reviews, incentive bonuses, and exit interviews.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • National Diploma/ Degree in Human Resource Management

 SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5-8 years as a Human Resources Generalist (Business Partner).
  • 4-5 years in Senior Management.
  • Proven experience in Strategic and Operational HR Management.
  • In-depth knowledge of South African Labour Legislation and current HR practices.
  • Experience within the broadcasting and radio environment is advantageous.
