THE PURPOSE OF THE INDUSTRIAL PLANNER SUPPLY CHAIN ROLE IS TO:
- Manage the adequacy between Demand (Firm & Forecast) and Resources (Manufacturing & Procurement) to reach customers QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) and projects timescales while optimising site resources (people, machines & cash).
THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:
Key accountabilities:
- Apply Industrial Planning Golden rules.
- Apply EHS (Environment Health Safety) rules (Alstom Zero Deviation Plan) when moving in workshops
- Manage demand (firm & forecast) in the Core Planning Tools and/or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
- Capture the Demand
- Consolidate and analyze the demand forecast SIOP (Sales & Operations Plan) demand plan
- Check the consistency and completeness of the demand forecast and put in place corrective actions when needed
- For firm demand, validate the adequacy between the need expressed by the project team and the product lead-time communicated to the build partner (through MPS demand.)
- Collaborate with Materials planners in ensuring accurate master data maintenance.
- Drive material buffer at warehouse according to Alstom Stock policy and manage missing parts.
- Contribute to planning instances & monthly reporting
- Collaborate to the monthly SIOP:
- Build the industrial planning for opportunities in coherency with inputs from the project team and the build partner.
- Perform operations workload versus workforce analysis and analyze bottlenecks (site capacity)
- Provide output to central SIOP team for global consolidation
- Participate to the SIOP cycle by doing the appropriate simulations and propose feasible scenario to support decisions to be taken (with internal and/or external solution)
- Ensure that SIOP instance decisions are reflected into MPS and/or Material Delivery Plan and cascade through the organization with appropriate communication to internal / external departments.
- Support the all stakeholders in production volumes analysis / consolidation
- Report the Work In Progress (WIP) and Finished goods (FG) for Hard Inventory (HI) consolidation in time
- Report the Manufacturing Throughput and Production Performance KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) in time
- Ensure that all KPIs are calculated according to the standard rules
- Document all disturbances and downtime daily
- Build and update the Master Production Schedule (Firm Demand only)
- Build the daily production plan considered availability of Material, Man, Machine, method (4M approach)
- Get the commitment on the hypothesis taken from all stakeholders
- Resource Management:
- Calculate manufacturing and testing workload inside the Planning Tool / Excel
- Identify the quantity of resources (not nominatively) needed per workstation
- Share results for monthly meeting
- Bottleneck analysis:
- Identify the bottlenecks as well as all other possible risks on the production plan
- Alert Industrial Planning manager of the projects involved each time maximum capacity is reached
- Propose scenario to secure and/or recover production plan (internal and/or external solution)
- Daily monitoring:
- Monitor production plan adherence
- Analyze the root causes of delay of the production plan (using 5-Why method) and their impact
- Participate to alignment meeting with industrial teams (Manufacturing / Testing / Supply Chain)
- Contribute to escalation process in case of non-adherence
- Update industrial planning into the Planning Tool / Excel each time there is a change validated by all stakeholders
- Update weekly the actual dates and communicate internally on the production plan status (tables, graphs, …)
- Prepare and participate to site planning instances / meetings
- In case of an event (strike, pandemic, supplier crisis, etc.):
- Evaluate impact by doing simulation to be validated in the appropriate instance
- After decision is taken, update industrial planning into the Planning Tool / Excel
THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a Supply Chain/Operations (or related) Diploma
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in Supply Chain, with minimum 3 years in the planning function
- Hands on working experience in an Industrial environment
- Knowledgeable of End-to-End vision for Industrial Planning process and process impact in Excel for procurement and manufacturing
- Advance working experience in Excel/ PowerPoint
- Virtual working experience
- Working knowledge ERP (i.e. SAP)
- Railway industry knowledge advantageous
- Must be able to work day shift and night shift when required
