Key responsibilities include:

• Production of accurate engineering drawings for the external manufacture and procurement of equipment, responsibility for safe design, quality, time and costs on assigned tasks – using established company systems and procedures
• Preparing conceptual layouts for use in plant development, plant and equipment upgrades and modifications as required by customers
• Creating 3D CAD models
• Preparing Engineering drawings
• Creating or updating bills of materials
• Participation in projects to modify and upgrade plant and equipment or to develop new plants.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• A combination of educational and experience background is essential – N6 or T3 is preferred.
• Experience in the design of BMH equipment in the port terminal, mining and mineral processing fields is important
• 2D and 3D drafting experience using 3D CAD software (MicroStation)
• Three years of drafting and design experience in the BMH field
• The incumbent needs to be conversant with technologies used in the bulk material handling industry
• Basic knowledge of materials and material flow, conveyors, bin, hopper and chute design, stockyard machines, rail tipplers, rail and road out loading stations and shiploading
• Knowledge and experience of manufacturing processes
