Internship Photographer needed at The South African Broadcasting Corporation

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the photographer during in-studio or on-location shoots.
• Help set up lighting, equipment, and backdrops.
• Organize props and ensure smooth shoot operations.
• Take photographs under supervision or independently for events, marketing content, behind-the-scenes footage, or internal communications.
• Use editing software like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or Canva to enhance photos.
• Crop, resize, and apply basic corrections to meet quality and brand standards.
• Assist in labelling, cataloguing, and archiving photos.
• Maintain folders and backup systems for easy retrieval.
• Work closely with graphic designers, content creators, and social media teams to produce visual content aligned with campaigns.
• Research trends, techniques, and tools in photography and visual storytelling.
• Suggest creative ideas for new photo concepts or series.
• Ensure all images align with the organization’s brand identity.
• Understand copyright laws and usage rights for any third-party assets.
• Assist with visual content creation for social media, newsletters, reports, or presentations.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions for visual storytelling.

INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

• National Diploma or Degree in Photography ,visual arts or relevant qualification (NQF6/7).
