PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- To manage the Inventory team and functions relating to Financial Inventory Management. To analyse, interpret and reconcile differences in financial and logistical data.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and execute monthly/quarterly financial reporting and month-end close-off procedures for inventory, including IFRS adjustments and journal entries.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, income statements, and various financial reporting documents.
- Calculate and analyse key inventory ratios, such as stock turn and stock loss (shrinkage/damages), and report on exceptions found in stock listings.
- Prepare and submit the quarterly forecasts, annual budget, and 3-year plan for Merchandising, Planning, and IFRS Adjustments for executive review.
- Prepare and review monthly reconciliations (inventory, lay-buys, etc.) and compile quarterly disclosure for statutory packs.
- Claims Management: Manage and reconcile all claims (supplier, transport, GL, and pack slips) by reviewing ageing, providing guidance to the Finance Clerk, and presenting a monthly status report to Exco.
Requirements
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
- B Comm or equivalent finance qualification (Degree)
- 3 years’ work experience in a finance environment
- Good knowledge of inventory processes
- SAICA Audit articles for CA (SA) or AGA (SA), CIMA or SAIPA will be an advantage
- Retail experience will be an advantage
SKILLS REQUIRED
- High Levels of Computer literacy – advanced Excel
- Google suite (Gmail; Calendar; Sheets, Docs)
- Previous SAP experience would be an advantage
- SAP Business Objects, Qlikview and/or Finnivo will be an advantage
- Managing a team
- Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Aptitude to work with figures
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Collate large volumes of data and inputs for strategic decision making
